Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers such as Juvéderm®, Restylane® and Voluma® are used by doctors to replenish hyaluronic acid and collagen. These substances help to give volume to your skin to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and thinning skin caused by aging, sun exposure and hormonal changes. They can also be used to enhance and define lips, cheeks and jawline. Some dermal fillers are used in conjunction with other skin rejuvenation treatments such as injections that relax facial muscles and lines. 

 

 

Hyaluronic acid is a natural complex sugar found in the human body.  It has the ability to attract and bind to water molecules to help maintain volume. The hyaluronic acid in your body plays a vital role in the firmness of your skin and the shape of your features. 

 

Longevity of the fillers depends on the type of dermal filler used, areas of injection and the amount injected. It also depends on how fast your body naturally metabolizes the hyaluronic acid. 

 

Results are immediate. You will see an improvement in the treatment area immediately after the procedure. In most cases, one treatment is enough to see optimal results. Touch-up treatments may be required to achieve and maintain the desired look. 

 

There is minimal down time after dermal fillers. Most people return to their normal daily routines immediately after the procedure.
